There were two Gypsy Girl designs over the years, this is the [[Pelham Puppets Classifications|LS]] variation which began production in 1948 and continued until the mid 50's.
There were two Gypsy Girl designs over the years, an [[Pelham Puppets Classifications|LS]] type, of which this is an example, and an [[Pelham Puppets Classifications|SS]] type. The LS type puppets were some of the earliest made by the Pelham company and can be defined by their standard height (being the same as SS puppets) but more simple controls and 'half ball feet'. These types of puppets would have come in the earlier brown boxes and the example in the museum is displayed with it's original box.

There were two Gypsy Girl designs over the years, an LS type, of which this is an example, and an SS type. The LS type puppets were some of the earliest made by the Pelham company and can be defined by their standard height (being the same as SS puppets) but more simple controls and 'half ball feet'.
